展覧会に寄せて

　本展は、中国近代写意画を代表する画家・劉雲（1943–2015）と、その娘であり、現在アーティスト・デザイナーとして日中両国で活動する劉元敬による父娘展です。
　劉雲は、呉昌碩門下の流れを受け継ぎ、大胆で力強い花鳥画や、深い精神性を感じさせる山水画を数多く生み出しました。その作品には、自然の生命力や作者の内面が、のびやかな筆致と豊かな色彩によって表されています。
　劉元敬は、幼い頃から父の背中を見ながら水墨画と書に親しんできました。その後、日本で学び、デザインや表現の分野で経験を重ね、現在は具象的なモチーフを起点にした抽象的な絵画表現を展開しています。父とは異なる表現を歩みながらも、色づかいや画面に流れる空気感の中に、自然と父の作品と響き合う瞬間が生まれることがあります。
　生前、父と娘が作品を並べて展示する機会はありませんでした。本展は深い敬愛を胸に、作品を通して父と向き合い、対話を重ねるようにして実現した元敬にとって特別な展示です。

Message for the Exhibition

This exhibition brings together the works of Liu Yun (1943–2015), a leading figure in modern Chinese freehand painting, and his daughter Liu Yuanjing, an artist and designer active in both Japan and China.
Liu Yun, a recognized inheritor of the Wu Changshuo lineage, was known for his bold bird-and-flower paintings and spiritually resonant landscapes, expressing the vitality of nature through powerful brushwork and rich color.
Liu Yuanjing, who grew up learning ink painting and calligraphy from her father, has developed her own artistic language, creating abstract expressions rooted in figurative forms after years of study and practice in Japan.
Although their artistic approaches differ, moments of quiet resonance emerge through shared color sensibilities and atmosphere.
During his lifetime, father and daughter never exhibited together; this exhibition is therefore a deeply personal dialogue, realized through Yuanjing’s profound respect for her father.

劉　雲（1943-2015）
安徽省安慶市に生まれる。中国美術家協会会員、国家高級美術師。上海海派書画研究会画師、安徽省安慶市書画院専属画家。
1950年代初頭、宋南谷、蕭龍士の両氏に師事。その後、著名な画家である蒋風白、王个移の両氏に入室弟子として学ぶ。呉昌碩門下の画派の正統な継承者として広く認められている。
大胆かつ迫力のある花鳥画を最も得意とし、山水画にも精通。幾度も日本を訪れ、講学・視察・交流を行う中で、重彩表現において独自の画風を確立した。作品は、力強く重厚でありながら、素朴さと雄健さを併せ持つ。
中国および海外の美術展に多数入選し、作品は日本、アメリカ、イギリス、フランス、シンガポール、韓国などの美術館・芸術機関、ならびに海外のコレクターに収蔵されている。
個展および父子による作品展を数多く開催。個人画集や学術論文・著作も多数刊行。

Liu Yun (1943–2015)
Born in Anqing, Anhui Province, China. A member of the China Artists Association and a National Senior Artist. He was an artist of the Shanghai Haipai Calligraphy and Painting Research Association and a full-time artist at the Anqing Painting and Calligraphy Institute.
A recognized inheritor of the Wu Changshuo school, Liu Yun was renowned for his bold and expressive bird-and-flower paintings in the freehand (xieyi) style, and was also accomplished in landscape painting. Through repeated visits to Japan, he developed a distinctive approach to rich-color expression. His works are noted for their powerful brushwork and vigorous, rustic strength.
His works have been exhibited widely in China and abroad and are held in museum and private collections worldwide.

劉　元敬
安徽省安慶市に生まれる。アーティスト、グラフィックデザイナー、トーキョーアートプレース副代表。幼少期より父に師事し、水墨画と書道を学ぶ。
1998年に来日、日本の伝統文化および芸術・デザインを研究。2002年筑波大学大学院にて芸術修士号を取得。修了後は、日本のデザイン会社、出版社、IT企業等に勤務。
また長年にわたり日中文化交流活動に関わり、日本国上海総領事館の後援による大規模な日中詩歌交流展など、多くの国際芸術展の企画・運営に携わる。
数年前よりアーティスト活動を本格化させ、具象的題材で抽象的表現の絵画を中心に制作。現在は日本と中国の両国を拠点に活動し、日中両国の企業のデザインを中心に手がけつつ、精力的にさまざまな形でアート活動を行なっている。

Liu Yuanjing
Born in Anqing, Anhui Province, China. Artist, graphic designer, and Deputy Director of Tokyo Art Place.
She studied ink painting and calligraphy from an early age under her father’s guidance. After moving to Japan in 1998, she researched Japanese traditional culture and art and design, and earned an MFA from the University of Tsukuba in 2002. She later worked in design firms, publishing houses, and IT companies in Japan.
Actively engaged in Japan–China cultural exchange, she has planned and organized numerous international art exhibitions. In recent years, she has focused on painting that explores abstract expression rooted in figurative subjects. She is currently based in Japan and China.
